Behavioral Health Services Association of South Carolina, Inc.
The mission of BHSA, an association of the local substance abuse authorities, is to represent and support member agencies in the provision of quality behavioral health services in South Carolina.
The use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs affects South Carolinians of all ages and from all walks of life. Problems surface in our workplaces, on our highways, in our healthcare system and in the criminal justice system.
Recognizing the need for community-based services, our 32 local providers offer a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment services. These single and multi-county providers offer services in all 46 counties of South Carolina. Each year, more than 50,000 individuals receive direct intervention and/or treatment services from our agencies. Since its creation in 1973, the system has provided services for more than 1 million South Carolinians.
