Description: The SAPST includes two parts: an online course (approximately 5 hours) titled: Introduction to Substance Abuse Prevention: Understanding the Basics, followed by this four-day face-to-face training. This innovative training offers practitioners a comprehensive introduction to substance abuse prevention. Grounded in research and SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, the SAPST helps practitioners develop the knowledge and skills needed to implement effective, data-driven prevention that reduces behavioral health disparities and improves wellness.
NOTE: Access information for the online course will be provided following receipt of this registration form.
Prerequisite: Completion of an online course (approximately 5 hours) titled Introduction to Substance Abuse Prevention: Understanding the Basics. The online course will be available in Relias; access instructions will be provided. To be admitted to the four-day face-to-face training, participants must e-mail a certificate of completion for the online course to Lou Anne Johnson at lajohnson@bhsasc.org by January 2, 2023.
